Ubuntu is a fork of the Debian operating system, created in 2006, which is a version of the GNU operating system. GNU was the first OS to use Linux and it's the father of many modern software like Android/iOS
People often refer to GNU and Linux both as just "Linux" for simplicity, but the entire project is actually called GNU.
You might have heard of GNU before, they are responsible for making GIMP.
I was bored so I wanted to see if I could get free dial up internet so I found that NetZero still has free service so I put in the number and heard the glorious sound of the Dial-up. Remind me of years gone. Unfortunately I was not able to make a connection.
